Small Ticket Merchant Program

Shhhh …, I can’t talk loud because this is the program that most of the other credit card processing reps don’t want you to know about. It is the small ticket interchange program and it was launched by both MasterCard and Visa a few years ago.

The CCPS small ticket interchange plus program is specifically for only about 15 merchant categories which typically have a large number of transactions with low ticket sales. So if you own one of these business types you should be very interested to know that the following two aspects of the program will benefit you:

Every time you accept a consumer credit card for a purchase price of less
than $15.00 then you qualify for the lower small ticket interchange category.
For all swiped sales of $25.00 or less you do not have to get a signature
from the card member.
